About the Role
Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer
London Liverpool Street
£40,000-£47,500
3 Office Days/2 WFH
Become a more rounded engineer, not just a design engineer.
The role is technically design-focused, but if you want more exposure beyond the desk, you'll get it. You can be involved in surveys, construction support, site inspections, witnessing and commissioning, giving you the opportunity to understand how your designs actually get built and perform.
See projects through rather than only doing one piece of them. You'll have the opportunity to follow projects from initial surveys and design through construction and commissioning. That means more ownership and a better understanding of the complete engineering process.
Enjoy variety rather than being pigeonholed into one sector. You'll work across decarbonisation, heat networks, commercial, residential, education and public-sector projects. It's a good opportunity if you don't want your CV dominated by one building type or repetitive workload.
Progress based on readiness rather than waiting for a vacancy above you. It's an SME without layers of rigid corporate hierarchy. If you're operating at the next level and ready for promotion, you don't have to wait for someone above you to leave before you can progress.
You'll receive proper support towards Chartership. You'll get full financial backing towards becoming Chartered, giving you the support to develop professionally rather than having to drive and fund the process entirely yourself.
Work in an adult environment where you're trusted to manage your workload. There's an expectation of around three days a week in the office, particularly while you're establishing yourself, but once the trust is there, there's flexibility. If you have an appointment or life gets in the way occasionally, you aren't expected to account for every minute - you're trusted to get the job done.
What you’ll do
You'll take increasing project ownership, initially working with support from more senior engineers, but progressively becoming responsible for larger elements of projects as your experience grows.
You'll collaborate with mechanical engineers, other disciplines, clients, contractors and the rest of the team, shaping the future of building services design.
What you’ll need
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or similar industry related degree
- Experience working with Electrical OM or Amtech, AutoCad and Building Services consultancy
- Electrical Design Engineering experience and understanding of British standards/regulations
About the company

Other benefits include: Company Pension Scheme, Sickness insurance, Life Assurance, 24 days plus bank holidays and after successful completion of probation: CPD opportunities, Private Health Insurance and more.
