About the Role
Senior Electrical Design Engineer
Croydon
£55000 - £65000 + Benefits

Have your workload reviewed every week, so you can raise competing deadlines before they become a problem. Resource meetings help agree what you can realistically take on and where support is needed.
Get regular site exposure alongside design work, so you can see existing systems, investigate problems and follow your decisions through. Travel time is recognised when planning workloads, giving you time to do the visit properly.
Broaden your experience across commercial, banking, industrial, logistics, retail and critical facilities projects. You’ll encounter different challenges and build experience beyond a single sector.
Draw on technical expertise across a wider engineering group. Colleagues share advice and previous project examples, giving you practical support when you tackle something unfamiliar, and opportunities to share your own knowledge.
Work with approachable senior engineers who recognise your contribution. A recent joiner described receiving positive feedback on his reports and being asked what he could reasonably take on next. That helps you build confidence and establish yourself within the team.
What you’ll do

Lead electrical design and delivery across your projects.

Work directly with clients and coordinate with other disciplines.

Carry out surveys, inspections and support commissioning.

Develop practical recommendations for existing and new building services.

Support junior engineers and contribute to technical proposals.
What you’ll need
-
Electrical building services consultancy experience + relevant industry related degree
-
Confidence managing projects and explaining technical decisions to clients.

Sound design, specification and report-writing skills.

The judgement to work independently and ask for support when needed.
