About the Role

Senior Electrical Design Engineer
City of London | Flexible & Standard Benefits & Hybrid Working | £55,000 - £65,000

A team that trusts you, supports you, and gives you balance.

If you’re looking for a role where you’re trusted from day one, where you won’t be drowning in work, and where directors actually stay close to projects, this is one worth considering.

You’ll join a close-knit consultancy where people stay for years because the environment simply works. Directors regularly check in on how workloads are looking, and if someone feels stretched, they’re able to speak up without hesitation. That openness and the fact that senior leaders roll up their sleeves themselves create a genuinely supportive place to build a long-term career.

Progression is real here, too. This role sits naturally within an evolving senior structure, giving you space to step up over time as succession plans develop.
Flexibility is straightforward: around 50% office presence over two weeks. That means some weeks you’ll commute two days, other weeks three, giving you breathing room, lower travel costs, and more balance outside of work.

Projects are varied and meaningful: commercial, education, hotels, healthcare, and low-carbon retrofit work. CAD/BIM support is in place so you can focus on design.

Benefits are flexible as well. There’s a standard package, but they’re open to tailoring options like healthcare or gym membership, etc., around what matters to you.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead electrical design across multiple project stages
  • Support and guide junior engineers
  • Work closely with directors and be involved in client conversations

What you’ll need:

  • UK building services consultancy experience
  • Strong electrical design skills with current knowledge of UK regs (incl. BS 7671)
  • Ability to manage projects and clients comfortably
  • Eligibility to pass security clearance for high-level projects

About the company
A long-established London consultancy delivering projects across commercial, government, education, healthcare, hotels and residential sectors. They operate with the attention to detail of a small practice, but with the capability and partnerships of a larger one. Their approach is built on client care, technical excellence, teamwork and long-term relationships, with project principals involved from concept to completion and a strong focus on sustainable, practical design.
